N-acetylcysteine (NAC) is a compound that is found naturally in the body. It is converted to glutathione, which plays a role in the detoxification of foreign substances.  As an antioxidant, it is thought to reduce DNA damage. NAC is also marketed as a dietary supplement for its liver-protective properties and to support healthy immune functioning.

In humans, NAC can dissolve and loosen mucus caused by some respiratory disorders. It has also been studied for several psychiatric disorders with limited success. Small trials suggest potential to reduce cancer-treatment toxicities, but it has not been shown to treat cancer. Additional studies are needed to determine safety and efficacy of NAC for various conditions. NAC is valued primarily for its role in antioxidant production.

Glutathione is one of the body’s most important antioxidants which helps neutralize free radicals that can damage cells and tissues in your body. It’s essential for immune health and fighting cellular damage. Some researchers believe it may even contribute to longevity. Its antioxidant properties are also important for combating numerous other ailments caused by oxidative stress, such as heart disease, infertility and some psychiatric conditions.

Recommended dosage as a dietary supplement: 600-1,800 mg daily for adults

Quercetin with Vitamin C:

A study published on PubMed June, 2020

A safe natural flavonoid and in-expensive anti-viral source for prevention and intervention of COVID 19 and other viruses.

Quercetin displays a broad range of antiviral properties which can interfere at multiple steps of pathogen virulence -virus entry, virus replication, protein assembly- and that these therapeutic effects can be augmented by the co-administration of vitamin c.
